H.BEACH DIECAST STAND MXR 400W 4.5 SSBOWL+ P.SHIELD APPL

I bought this specifically for making pita bread dough after carefully reading all the reviews I could find on every brand. Hand-kneading is getting too difficult for me so I don't bake as often as I'd like to.

The first small batch of pita was made the night this mixer came (no dinner until almost 9pm!) and a double batch - 18 pitas - was made yesterday. The single batch was a breeze kneaded with the dough hook on "6". The double seemed to cause a little straining on the motor so I stopped every now and then and re-adjusted the dough. I think the mixer was really handling it fine but I intend to be careful.

It does want to walk across the counter even though it is quite heavy. I don't mind hanging onto it, though and I enjoyed watching the dough spin off the hook and then wind back on.
As others have noticed, it's not really a 12 speed mixer. There are 6 speed choices that have been numbered 2-4-6-8-10-12. 2 and 4 were good for mixing the ingredients. 6 was good for kneading. I haven't tried the others yet.

Clean up is very easy with no odd nooks to collect debris. Styling is very retro-cute and looks great in my old adobe house. The green is a little lighter than what I would call apple but bright enough to escape being a mint green. I am 100% pleased and think I did right by choosing this mixer over a low-end yet more expensive Kitchen-Aid.
